How Many Restroom Trailers Do You Need for 50 to 500 Guests?

When planning an outdoor event, one of the most overlooked—but most important—questions is: how many restrooms will your guests need? If you’re renting a luxury restroom trailer, here’s a simple breakdown to help you figure it out.

Standard Rule of Thumb

For events under 4 hours, you’ll typically want:

1 toilet per 75 guests

For events longer than 4 hours, especially those serving food and alcohol, you should double that number to prevent long lines and keep things running smoothly.

Quick Reference Chart

50 guests = 1 stall
100 guests = 2–3 stalls
200 guests = 4–6 stalls
300–500 guests = 6+ stalls or multiple trailers

The company we hired (a popular Porta company) sent over some very unpleasent looking/smelling units that were not acceptable and definitely not what we paid for! We contacted Lux last minute.
